In September 2006 CU Chemie Uetikon, a division of the Swiss based CPH Chemie and Papier Holdings AG, acquired an 80% share in the service orientated bioprocessing company Archport Ltd.

Uetikon enjoys a proud history of production partnership to the pharmaceutical industry. This acquisition will broaden the company's technology base enabling it to become a complete systems partner of the global pharmaceutical sector.

Archport Ltd was established in 1998 at Dublin City University to provide contract production and development services to the biopharmaceutical industry. The company's range of services include GMP-compliant animal cell culture and downstream processing activities for development or manufacture of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). Products can be for clinical trial or market supply and typical application areas are recombinant proteins, cell therapy products and monoclonal antibodies. Archport also provides services for scale-up of mammalian/insect cell culture, purification processes and joint R&D services. 

CU Chemie Uetikon GmbH based in Lahr, Germany, provides production partnership  for the pharmaceutical industry. With a proud reputation for providing the highest standards of  quality, reliability, confidentiality and financial strength, Uetikon supports its customers with capacity ranging from grams through multi-kilo to multi-ton scale.

Its  main business activities include Custom Synthesis, production of Generic API's and Orphan Drugs, and delivery of various key intermediates and specialty chemicals. 

A new multi-purpose state-of-the-art GMP plant guarantees the highest level of quality and GMP-compliance. All operations are successfully FDA inspected.
